Who is your favorite team? Whether it’s Basketball, Baseball, Football, Fishball (just kidding). Definitely we have at least one favorite team in our life time, local or international. Sometimes they are winning sometimes they’re losing, but either way, they’re still #1 in our hearts, isn’t?
Maybe you already heard that “there’s no I in TEAM”. I strongly believe this, because simply no one can do it alone. Imagine a man building a car all by himself, how long can he finish this task? Can he really finish it from scratch!?
Even the most popular player who ever played basketball always have 4 guys + 1 coach around him. How about boxing, swimming, chess games? They all have great coaches, trainers or mentors by their side. Who can teach the right ways, correct all the wrong moves, motivate, and push them to their limits?
The question is, who can work alone in this world? Most definitely no one. Even Jesus gathered 12 disciples in his lifetime on this earth. Can he do it alone? Absolutely! because he is God. The great thing is, He chose to do it with us, because he wants to show us the importance of fellowship with others. That we need one another not for selfish reasons, but we need one another to strengthen and help those in need.
Even the 12 are not perfect, remember 1 of them betrayed him… they are just ordinary people like most of you and me. But you know what they have during that time? They had Jesus beside them, who became their friend, teacher, rabbi, healer, encourager and many more.
So every time we are in a team, don’t focus on you. Let’s change “me” to “we,” and focus on how we can contribute to that team. Who knows, maybe we are the next great team who will change the world!?
And he said to them, “Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.”
Questions: Are you part of a team? if yes, what is your role and contribution in your team? If you’re not yet a part of any group or team, what kind of qualities are you looking for to have in a great team?
